We use bellydance as a tool to help you build your confidence, celebrate your body, and embrace the true you.

Learning to love your body

The world around you is trying to convince you that your body isn’t good enough.  It’s not thin enough, curvy enough, smooth enough, you name it.  And especially if you’ve had kids, it’s really easy to get caught up in looks and numbers.  You can end up feeling like a stranger in someone else’s body.

Learning the art of bellydance can help overcome all that.  Teaching your body to move with control and grace naturally helps you feel more at home in your own skin.  You’ll learn to stand tall and move with intention to instantly command attention every time you enter a room.  

Overcoming Fears

As we get older, it seems to get harder to try new things, to put ourselves out there, to make new friends, to ask for that raise and so on.  

Studying bellydance has you regularly trying new things (new moves, new ways of thinking) so it trains your brain to be more comfortable operating outside your comfort zone.

Finding your people

The Bellydance Confidence Club is designed for you to learn at your own pace, but with company!  We’re all here to get out of our comfort zone, grow our confidence, and just have from frickin’ fun!

As you master new moves, you can SEE your progress.  And seeing that progress is a huge motivator and confidence booster.  Experiencing that “I did it!” feeling carries over into the rest of your life to give you the courage to create even more success.

Everyone needs a creative outlet, and it’s even better when that outlet gets you off your butt and moving.  Not only does bellydancing provide a great, low-impact physical activity, but it gives you a way to express yourself without words.  That freedom helps you blow off steam and really connect with how you are at your core.

About me...

After 20+ years of bellydancing, 3 kids, and years of turning everyday women into proud, sparkly dancers, I came up with this glitter covered idea:  THE BELLYDANCE CONFIDENCE CLUB!

I believe that dance is for more than just performances, entertainment, and fitness (although those are awesome, too!).  You can use it as a way to learn to love yourself and be comfortable in your body.

I know from first hand experience that having kids can do a number on your self-image, and with each child it was always dance that guided me back to myself.

Before I started bellydancing, I was pretty quiet and reserved.  I didn't want to be in the center of things or let too much of my true self out for fear of being rejected (the whole pink, sparkly unicorn thing was a deep dark secret).  And I was super self-conscious of my body (and that was BEFORE having 3 kids!).  So much of my time and energy was spent trying to make sure people liked me.

But after years of bellydancing, I suddenly found myself comfortable in my own skin.  Bright colors and sparkles?  Yes please!  Unabashedly tossing out Monty Python and Star Wars references?  You bet!  Telling the mean mom at the soccer game to cool her jets?  Definitely.

Bellydance gave me the confidence to not just be myself, but to be the person I WANTED to be.
